My four-year-old great niece was visiting my sister one afternoon when the telephone rang. While she talked with our Dad, the little girl played quietly in the adjoining family room. After a lengthy one-sided conversation, my sister asked her if she would like to say hello to Great-Grandpa. Without a moment’s hesitation, she replied, “No thank you, Nana. He talks too much.”

I was invited to present the Story of Chanukah at a local preschool in Tallahassee. The account of historic bravery and the miracle of the menorah was told, the eight candles were lit, and it was time for questions from the class of four-year-olds....."So," said Phillipo, a boy of Italian heritage, "Santa Claus in not in this story, huh?" I replied "No, Phillipo, Santa is not in this one....but he's in a lot of other ones, right?" He didn't seemed too disappointed, but was still wondering how the "Big Guy" didn't make it into this tale.

Last summer my 3 year old grandaughter was visiting from Alaska, the land of the midnight sun. For six months, it is always bright daylight when she goes to sleep and daylight when she awakens.
It was dusk as we were finishing dinner on the deck when she looked at me worriedly and quite alarmingly asked, "Grandma, why is the sun going away?"

I had taken my grandaughter, Aubrey, not yet three, swimming. Afterwards, she watched as I changed out of my swimsuit.
"Grammy," she said, "are you putting on a bra?"
Surprised that she even knew the word for this piece of apparel I told her yes, I was.
Aubrey paused a moment, deep in thought, then said to me, "to keep your milkers warm?"

Our family went on a vacation to the Smoky Mountains and one of the activities was a Hummer ride through the mountains. They warn you that you can get pretty filthy, splashing through the mud. When the Hummer pulled up to take the family on the tour, my 3-year-old granddaughter Caitlin put her hands on her hips and said, "There's NO WAY I'm gonna ride in that dirty Jeep!"

This summer I decided since I was raising my grandson that I
needed to be more in shape. So when my grandson and I took walks, ( me walking and my grandson riding on his bike)that I would step up the pace. After about a half a mile, I said to my grandson as I stopped and leaned on a tree, (panting and out of breath and resting), grandmom is just gonna stop for a minute, my grandson looked at me, puzzled, and said grandmom why are you walking so fast?
I said, because grandmom is fat and I want to loose weight, he sweetly looked at me and said "grandmom, you're not fat you're poofy"
God Bless him! (signed, hanging in there.)
